Poway, incorporated in 1980 and nicknamed the “City in the Country”, is a vibrant community located to the north-east of San Diego with a population surpassing 50,000 residents. Poway was once inhabited by the Digueños, a Native American tribe that occupied much of the early region. Poway is thought to mean “here, where the waters meet” or “the two little valleys” depending on the source.

Finally, Poway offers residents many green areas including 22 parks, 66 mile of trails and 230 acres of developed parkland. Nestled between the hills, Lake Poway is a wonderful spot for boating and fishing enthusiasts.
